Mathew Klickstein is a longtime multiple platform storyteller whose books include such works as: co-writing Mike Reiss’ Springfield Confidential: Jokes, Secrets, and Outright LIes from a Lifetime Writing for The Simpsons; See You At San Diego: An Oral History of Comic-Con, Fandom, and the Triumph of Geek Culture and Slimed! An Oral History of Nickelodeon’s Golden Age, which was recently featured as an answer on Jeopardy!. Klickstein is also the writer of Sony Pictures’ Against the Dark (which holds the dubious distinction of being action star Steven Seagal’s only horror film to date), and co-creator of the podcasts NERTZ for WIRED and Heavy Metal Magazine and Comic-Con Begins: Origin Stories of the San Diego Comic-Con and the Rise of Modern Fandom, which was adapted to his aforementioned Comic-Con oral history book and is currently being developed as a feature-length documentary with executive producer David Permut (Face/Off, Obama-produced and Academy Award-nominated Rustin) and producer Oscar Boyson (producer of the early works of Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach and all of the films by the Safdie Bros.). 

Klickstein’s critically-acclaimed comic book series via AfterShock Comics, You Are Obsolete, has been translated in multiple languages and is being developed as a limited television series. His forthcoming books include Lloyd Kaufman:Interviews (University of Mississippi Press, Feb 2025), the graphic novel Daisy Goes to the Moon (Fantagraphics, Jan 2025; illustrated by Rick Geary) and the Thai translation of his Little Encyclopedia of Jewish Culture: 101 People, Places, Things (and Foods) Every Jew Should Know.
